SUNDAY RIDE - Extreme Weather Call

Sunday's ride was supposed to be a Cudlee Creek return. The current forecast is for 42 degrees and it may well be a day of extreme or catastrophic fire danger in the Mt Lofty Ranges.

For this reason, after consultation, the BG extreme weather policy will be implemented.

Meet at Hindmarsh Square at 7.30am for a route call based on conditions at the time. The 8.00am meet at the Tower is cancelled, as the ride will likely towards the beach.

Take care and keep cool.

Tour Down Under Challenge Ride

A Norwood start again this year for those doing the Ride we will meet in easy reach of the faster group departure areas.

The meeting point will be at Caffe Pave from around 6:00 am

The departure is at 6:30 am we may actually touch the pedals by 6:45 am

The weather looks hot so they may shorten the ride or cancel if too hot.

Provisionally the Designated Refreshment stops for the BG.

  • Mt Pleasant 54 km
  • Charleston 80 km
  • Cudlee Creek 100 km
  • Cambeltown 120km
This is more often than normal in anticipation of the weather.

As we are  "The Bastardi", here is the traditional TDU Italian Phrase that may be helpful on this year's ride.

se il ragazzone perde 10 chili, siamo tutti fottuti - if the big boy loses 10 kilos, we are all f%&^d

The weather looks like fun but hopefully the forecast will improve.

Safe Cycling

Gents

Just a reminder that SAPOL are running operation Cycle Safe to coincide with the Tour Down Under.

Areas of particular focus are numerous but include Outer Harbor, Port Road, Anzac Highway and the TDU staging areas. Offences targeted are cyclists who disobey traffic lights, stop signs and large groups riding two abreast causing traffic hazards as well as no lights etc.

Expiation notices will be issued for breaches.

Happy New Year - Sunday's Ride is a Beach Ride

Happy New Year 2018 you pack of Bastardi's

Meet in the City at 7:30 the ride is Outer Harbor via Port Road

Please be aware the Big Red Ride is this Sunday starting at Semaphore to Glenelg at 7am and then returning. Hopefully by riding in the same direction  the Group will not get tangled up with them.

Next week is Ride Like Crazy and then into TDU week. It is really early this year, so keep training.
